Delhi Police Reject Allegations of Assault on Women Journalists
Delhi Police have completely denied the allegations of assault made by two women journalists. According to the police, the journalists parked their scooter on the VVIP route and had a dispute with the police personnel. After the incident, both women were taken to the police station but were released within 10 minutes.
The police stated that both women journalists had parked their scooter near the VVIP route, causing an obstruction on the road. The police personnel requested them not to park the vehicle there, but they started arguing. Subsequently, they were taken to the police station.
A police officer said, "The statement being circulated on internet media is incorrect." He added that at the police station, the women journalists were rude to the staff and had a scuffle with a pregnant woman sub-inspector.
The women journalists had made a video alleging that they were being targeted because of their community, but the police have denied this claim. The police say the allegations are completely misleading.
