A Glimpse of Ashutosh Kumar Pandey's 22 Years Journey in Journalism

Ashutosh Kumar Pandey has worked in various fields of journalism over 22 years. He is the head of the Bihar-Jharkhand digital desk of Navbharat Times and specializes in news related to politics, crime, and human sensitivity.

Ashutosh Kumar Pandey started his journalism career in 2001 as a feature writer for Jansatta's Kolkata edition. After that, he wrote independently for Hindustan, Dainik Jagran, and Adarshan news magazine. In 2003, he became a correspondent at ETV Network and later worked as local page in-charge for Hindustan Daily Muzaffarpur edition, Focus TV, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting New Delhi, Prabhat Khabar Digital, and Network 18.

He prepared a comprehensive profile of 80 seats of Uttar Pradesh for electronic media during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. His reporting on smuggling by train at the India-Nepal border was appreciated by ETV Group chairman Ramoji Rao.

Ashutosh uncovered many untold political stories and ran a digital series called 'From the Pages of the Past.' He wrote untold stories of former Bihar chief ministers including Karpoori Thakur, Lalu Prasad Yadav, and Jayaprakash Narayan. He has dedicated 12 years to ground reporting in journalism.

During his tenure, Maurya TV Patna awarded 12 Best Story of the Day awards. Navbharat Times Online honored him with 'Story of the Month' in 2025. Ashutosh has interviewed many senior leaders and artists, including Pramod Mahajan, Amar Singh, Jaya Prada, Rajnath Singh, Nitish Kumar, Gulzar, and Piyush Mishra.

He is skilled at capturing the story behind the news and bringing small news to news value. He has also worked in eight productions of the Bengali theater 'Alkap.'
