Yaseen Malik Declares Himself Innocent in Sarla Bhatt Murder Case

Yaseen Malik has declared himself innocent in the Sarla Bhatt murder case. He has been accused in this case after more than 30 years. Malik has filed an affidavit in court expressing his desire to divorce his wife Mushal.

Sarla Bhatt was murdered on April 19, 1990. The State Investigation Agency filed the charge sheet in this case on June 29, 2026. Yaseen Malik said in his affidavit that he has been falsely implicated and will not oppose this trial. He stated that at the time of the murder, he was struggling between life and death.

In the affidavit, Malik mentioned his wife Mushal Malik and daughter Raziya Sultana. He has decided to separate from the marital relationship so that Mushal can start a new life. Malik said he does not want his wife to spend her entire life as a widow.

Yaseen Malik has been imprisoned in Delhi's Tihar Jail since 2019. The next hearing in this case will be on September 19, 2026.
