Naresh Kumar Gupta, a supervisor guarding a warehouse related to the railway station construction work in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, died due to severe injuries to his head and face.

According to the police, Naresh Kumar Gupta had been working as a supervisor and guard in Bilaspur for nearly two years. On Thursday morning, his blood-soaked body was found near the water tank close to the RPF colony. There were axe marks on his head and face, which caused excessive bleeding leading to his death.

CCTV footage from the crime scene shows a suspicious young man approaching Naresh Kumar with a hammer. Although the act of hitting is not clearly visible, screams can be heard. Police are questioning nearby people and employees and are reviewing footage to identify suspects.

Police teams have thoroughly inspected the crime scene. FSL and dog squads have collected evidence. The accused are still absconding and are being searched for. The RPF colony is a sensitive area adjacent to the railway station, monitored by RPF, GRP, and local police. The murder in this area raises questions about the security arrangements.

Police are investigating both theft and enmity angles, but the real motive and the identity of the accused will be revealed only after the investigation. SP Vikrant Murab said that police started the investigation after receiving the information.

His father, Shatrudhan Yadav, said his son had no disputes or quarrels with anyone and they do not have much information about a mobile thief. The condition of the body suggests murder.

Police have conducted a postmortem and are conducting a detailed investigation.
