The bodies of two army soldiers missing in the Hathinikund Barrage accident in Haryana's Yamunanagar have been found. One soldier's body was found near Bartha village in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, while the other was recovered from Hansi Branch Canal in Jind district of Haryana.

On Tuesday evening around five o'clock, five soldiers of One Para Special Forces jumped from a Chinook helicopter onto a motorboat parked in the Yamuna river near Hathinikund Barrage. The boat did not start and suddenly began to sink. All soldiers, wearing diving suits and life jackets, jumped into the river. Three soldiers swam out safely, while two went missing.

After the accident, teams from the army, NDRF, SDRF, police, and administration conducted search operations in Yamunanagar and nearby canals. Ten army teams searched a 15-kilometer area. Water was stopped in the Western Yamuna Canal for an hour to lower the water level for the search. Soldiers formed a human chain to conduct the search.

In the evening, two life jackets and a diving kit were found at Dadupur Head, 15 kilometers from the barrage, but the army did not clarify whether these items belonged to the missing soldiers.

At eight in the night, a body in a diving suit was found in Bartha village of Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. Army officers arrived at the site and took the body with them. It was reported that the body was of Ajay from Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir.

At noon, information was received that the second body in a diving suit was recovered near Amrehadi village of Hansi Branch Canal in Jind. This canal originates from the Munak Head of the Western Yamuna Canal. It was reported that the body was of PR Narayan from Maharashtra.

On Thursday, along with the search operation near Hathinikund Barrage, army teams also reached Indri in Karnal. Considering the possibility of bodies drifting in the Yamuna Western Canal reaching Indri, monitoring was maintained here since morning, but the army teams did not enter the canal and kept watch from outside.
