The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a show cause notice to IAS Rinku Singh Rahi posted in Jalaun based on complaints related to administrative discipline and service conduct. The government has asked for a reply within 15 days. Rinku Singh has shared this notice on social media and responded.

The DM of Jalaun wrote a letter to the government on August 5 regarding Rinku Singh Rahi's conduct. Subsequently, the government issued the notice on August 20 through Special Secretary Vijay Kumar. The notice alleges that on June 27, 2026, Rinku Singh took furniture from the collectorate without permission, reached the Orai tehsil complex, called the media, and staged a sit-in protest regarding room allocation.

The government also stated that Rinku Singh repeatedly criticized government schemes and policies on social media, attempting to create an atmosphere against the administration. Subordinate employees, lawyers, and local organizations described his behavior as insulting and inappropriate.

Rinku Singh was posted as SDM in Jalaun tehsil on May 5. After complaints, he was transferred on June 30 to the judicial SDM post in Sadar tehsil. The investigation found that he created a disturbance at the municipal office without permission, faced boycott from lawyers, and behaved improperly multiple times.

Investigating officers ADM Finance and Revenue Rajiv Raj and ASP Eshant Soni are investigating the case. Naib Nazir Bhanumati, Lekhpal Sangh, Block Chief Ramraja Niranjan, In-charge Tehsildar Tara Shukla, and Sadar SDM Jyoti Singh have filed complaints against Rinku Singh for mental harassment, insulting behavior, and use of inappropriate language.

In the Jalaun Nazool land case, Rinku Singh wrote about the negligence and collusion of the concerned Lekhpal but made the report public on internet media. The investigation report sent to the government by the DM on August 5 stated that Rinku Singh violated All India Services rules by circulating confidential letters on social media.

Rinku Singh has made serious allegations against the DM on social media and called the notice a 'love letter'. The government has asked him to respond within 15 days. The notice includes several allegations such as staging a sit-in protest in the tehsil, raiding with media in the municipal council, and opposition from the Bar Association.

He is also accused of harassing women and the differently-abled, which he expresses surprise about. After the government action, tension has increased between Rinku Singh and the administration.
