Order for CBI Investigation into Disappearance of Muzaffarnagar History-Sheeter

Allahabad High Court has ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the disappearance of Muzaffarnagar history-sheeter Muttalib, son of Sharafat. The court expressed strong displeasure over the delay in action, describing the local police investigation as disappointing and negative.

Allahabad High Court has ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the disappearance of Muzaffarnagar history-sheeter Muttalib, son of Sharafat. The court expressed strong displeasure over the delay in action, describing the local police investigation as disappointing and negative.

Court's Order and Displeasure

A bench of Justice Atul Shridharan and Justice Achal Sachdev issued this order while hearing a habeas corpus petition. The court said that the local police are either incapable of conducting the investigation or are deliberately delaying the proceedings, causing the hearing to be postponed. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the court directed a CBI investigation.

Muttalib's Criminal History and Disappearance

About 30 criminal cases have been registered against Muttalib at various police stations in Muzaffarnagar district. He is described as a history-sheeter. On May 4, 2026, immediately after being granted bail by the High Court and released, Muttalib and his father were taken into custody by Purkajipur police station. Since then, he has been missing. The petitioner and Muttalib's brother Alam presented this fact before the court.

Arrest of Three Accused in Pihowa Robbery

The police stated that after the arrest of the accused, the area was sealed off and CCTV footage is being examined.

Financier Murdered in Yamunanagar

Finance and transport businessman Harbhajan Singh alias Yadi was shot dead in Yamunanagar. The incident occurred when he was getting into his car after coming out of the gym. Unknown assailants fired multiple shots from close range, in which Harbhajan Singh was fatally wounded on the spot. The police recovered empty bullet shells from the crime scene and are investigating.

Youth's Suicide in Delhi

A youth in Nihal Vihar, Delhi, committed suicide by shooting himself. The police are investigating the reasons and circumstances of the suicide. The youth's father, Shakeel Shaifi, is a declared criminal in the area. Some time ago, Shakeel was also accused of ordering firing on his personal security guard. The police are investigating keeping the background of the case in mind.
