PM Modi praises SRCC’s century of shaping leaders and futures

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the centenary celebrations of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), highlighting the institution’s legacy of nurturing generations of leaders in business, public life, and society. He praised the college’s influence beyond economics and revisited his 2013 speech where he coined the term 'dimaagi naxal'.

Modi emphasised that SRCC has given generations of students the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a difference over more than 100 years. He said the college’s rich academic legacy has shaped bright futures and its influence extends far beyond the field of economics.

Recalling his earlier remarks, Modi said, "What I said in 2013 was my conviction," referring to his use of the phrase 'dimaagi naxal' to describe those opposing development. He urged students to make some noise even if they are not 'dhurandhar' (stalwarts), praising the college’s alumni for creating a significant impact. "They may not be the stalwarts, but they have done great," he added.

Modi also noted that students of SRCC have taken its glory to the global stage, reflecting the institution’s role in nurturing leaders who contribute to India’s progress. He recalled that in many meetings, the alumni shared incidents from their SRCC days, highlighting the strong bond and pride associated with the college.

The Prime Minister’s remarks came amid celebrations marking 100 years of SRCC’s legacy, which continues to inspire future generations. He encouraged the youth to embrace the college’s spirit and contribute to building a developed India.
