Auto-Car Collision in Rewari, 15 Female Students Injured
In Rewari on Thursday, 15 female students were injured in a collision between an auto and a car while going from Sector-18 Women's College towards the bus stand. Three of them have been referred to PGI Rohtak in serious condition. About 12 students were on the auto at the time of the accident.
On Thursday afternoon, an auto and a car collided at the Sector-18 turn. The students on the auto were coming from the college towards the bus stand, which is about 3 kilometers away. All the students were injured when the fast-moving auto overturned.
After the accident, nearby people rescued the trapped students and informed the police. The injured students include Muskan, Kashish, Pinky, Kumkum, Monika, Sonia, and Chinaya.
According to information, the auto driver Rohit was driving the vehicle without the necessary documents. The auto's RC is deposited in court, but pollution and license-related documents were not found. High speed is considered the main cause of the accident.
The government has run special buses for women in rural areas, but there is no transport facility from the bus stand to the college. Therefore, the students have to rely on autos for commuting. When autos are not available, students have to walk between the college and the bus stand.
The distance from Outer Circular Road to the college is about one kilometer.
This accident has exposed the shortcomings of the transport system, where there are insufficient arrangements for the safety of the students.
