PM Modi urges teachers to identify student talents beyond books

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Teachers' Day called on educators to look beyond textbooks and academic syllabi to connect with students' lives. He emphasized identifying talents and behavioural changes, urging teachers to help children overcome habits like excessive screen time and drug addiction.

Modi stressed the importance of engaging children in creative pursuits and designing programmes that foster such habits. He said, "We have to get out of books, we have to get out of syllabus, we have to get into the lives of children." He also highlighted the need for teachers to remain alert to changes in children, identify causes, and assist them in overcoming harmful habits.

The Prime Minister praised innovative teaching methods, noting the warmth of interactions and curiosity among teachers using models, competitions, and digital platforms to help students learn. He encouraged preserving the innocence of childhood through sports, physical games, and creative activities.
