Chairman criticises Opposition for misrepresenting India’s 7.8% GDP growth

Lanka Dinakar, chairman of the 20 Points Programme under Viksit Bharat – Swarna Andhra Pradesh, criticised Opposition parties on Saturday for portraying India’s GDP growth as 2.6% instead of the actual 7.8%. He termed this misrepresentation as political propaganda aimed at misleading the public.

Dinakar highlighted that the country’s GDP growth rate stands at 7.8%, a figure confirmed by multiple sources. He accused some political groups of deliberately presenting the growth as only 2.6% to create confusion among the public. "Some people couldn’t digest the numbers," he said, referring to the Opposition’s reaction.

He added that while some see the economic glass as half empty, others recognise it as fully filled. Dinakar expressed confidence that the youth are not fully aware of the previous economic situation, implying that the current growth is a significant improvement. The chairman’s remarks came amid ongoing debates over the accuracy and interpretation of India’s economic data.
