The construction of the international cricket stadium being built in the Ganjari area of Varanasi and the proposed public transport ropeway from Cantt to Godowlia is in its final stage. Prime Minister Narendra Modi may inaugurate these projects in the last week of September.

95 percent of the work on the cricket stadium being built in Ganjari at a cost of 450 crore rupees has been completed. The floodlights and seating arrangements for spectators have also been finished. This stadium will accommodate 30,000 spectators at a time to watch international matches. There is a plan to increase the seating capacity to 40,000 in the future.

The public transport ropeway being constructed from Cantt railway station to Godowlia is also in its final stage. In this project, which is over three kilometers long, the construction of Cantt, Kashi Vidyapith, and Rath Yatra stations has been completed, while the construction of Godowlia station is progressing rapidly. This will be Asia's first urban ropeway project, allowing passengers to travel from Cantt railway station to Godowlia.

The Varanasi district administration has sent the progress report of these projects to the Prime Minister's Office. However, the final decision regarding the Prime Minister's visit and program has not yet been made.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of this stadium in 2023. The completion of these projects will soon benefit the residents of Kashi and tourists.
