During a protest on June 23, Sanjay Kumar Azad, father of protesting student Neeshu, was injured. The case came to light after a video interview of Swatantra Bhardwaj went viral. However, these claims have not been independently verified.
Delhi Police has denied allegations of political interference. According to police, two persons, Suraj Kumar and Swatantra Bhardwaj, have been taken into custody from the spot. CJP leader Ashutosh Ranka said that during the protest at Jantar Mantar, Neeshu's father Sanjay was assaulted.
