Affordable Flats and Shelters to be Built for EWAS in Greater Noida
Multistorey flats for the economically weaker section will be built near Patwari in Greater Noida West and Biroundi village in the East area. The authority board has approved these proposals related to workers as per government instructions.
An area of 44,750 square meters in Patwari village and 18,000 square meters in Biroundi has been earmarked for the residential scheme. Affordable flats of 30 to 40 square meters will be constructed here, with the number of floors to be decided later.
A large number of migrant workers come to Greater Noida in search of employment, who later desire permanent housing for themselves. The prices of flats by builders are beyond the reach of these workers, so an affordable housing scheme has been launched for poor families.
This scheme will include lift facilities as well as shops and vegetable booths for daily use items. Considering the temporary housing problem of migrant workers, the authority has earmarked 3,000 square meters each in Sector Ecotech-6 and Ecotech-11 under the transit hostel scheme, which will be transferred free of cost to the labor department.
Greater Noida Authority has also approved a proposal to grant additional time until June 30, 2028, to those allotted residential plots to complete building construction and obtain the completion certificate. If no certificate is obtained after this period, the allotment will be cancelled.
To make immediate action effective in disaster and emergency situations, the authority has also approved a proposal to provide residential facilities for the NDRF Regional Response Center. Under this, 30 flats will be allotted free of cost in Sector Omicron-1A, where the deployed personnel will not reside with their families.
