Teacher's Day and Janmashtami Celebrations Held with Grandeur in Jalandhar Schools

JALANDHAR। On September 5, Teacher's Day and Shri Krishna Janmashtami were celebrated with great enthusiasm in various schools of Jalandhar. Children presented cultural programs related to life, while teachers took an oath of dedication towards their duties.

At Ganga National Public School Parsa Bhadwaria, young children mesmerized the audience with a tableau of Shri Krishna's life and group dance performances. Older students dedicated group dances, bhajans, and speeches to teachers on Teacher's Day. Principal Ajay Kumar Bhardwaj highlighted the responsibilities and importance of education and teachers in society.

Teachers also presented their program and took an oath to educate students with readiness and dedication while building a clean and beautiful society. The school's chairman Ganga Sagar Rai advised all staff and teachers to always move forward on the path of duty. Managing Director Amit Rai, Vice Principal Sunil Pandey, and Coordinator Ravi Upadhyay were also present at the ceremony.

At APJ School located in Model Town, a ceremony was held to honor the contributions of teachers on Teacher's Day. The event was led by APJ Education Chairperson Sushma Paul Barliya and Mentor Dr. Neha Barliya. Students gave cultural performances and delivered speeches on the guiding role of teachers. Principal Dr. Rajesh Chandel extended best wishes to teachers on Teacher's Day.

Teacher's Day is celebrated every year on September 5 on the birth anniversary of India's former President and educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The day has been observed as Teacher's Day since 1962. Teachers are not only providers of knowledge but also those who explain the difference between right and wrong and prepare students to face life's challenges. They recognize and nurture the hidden talents of students and encourage them in failure.

Dr. Radhakrishnan served as a teacher in various positions for nearly 40 years and was a scholar of many subjects. When his colleagues proposed celebrating his birthday, he said he would be happier if his birthday was celebrated as Teacher's Day. Since then, this tradition has continued.
