In Uttar Pradesh, BJP has announced regional working committees for 12 districts to strengthen the organization ahead of the assembly elections. The new team includes nine regional vice presidents and four general secretaries following the recommendation of state president Pankaj Chaudhary.

BJP's Kashi regional president Ashok Chaurasia announced the regional working committee on Thursday. This time, the party has increased the number of vice presidents from seven to ten compared to last time, while the number of general secretaries has been increased from three to four.

Six regional committees have been formed in the state including Kashi, Awadh, Braj, Kanpur, and Gorakhpur. Many old and new leaders have been given responsibilities in these committees. Rajesh Patel has been made general secretary in Kanpur region, Kavita Patel in Kashi, Rajeshwar Patel in Braj, and Awadhesh Katiyar in Awadh.

No leader from the Brahmin community has been made general secretary or vice president in the western region team. Instead, two leaders from the Saini community have been given positions. Rajiv Mishra, who was vice president in the Awadh region, has been made general secretary this time.

The new team maintains a balance of experience and young leadership. Several old leaders have also been brought back into the organization in the Gorakhpur region team. The Gorakhpur team has 39 office bearers, including four general secretaries.

BJP had announced six regional presidents on June 25. On July 4, national general secretary BL Santosh had said in Lucknow that regional teams would be formed soon. These teams have been announced after two months and will lead the 2027 assembly and 2029 Lok Sabha elections.

The new working committee announced after the recommendation of state president Pankaj Chaudhary includes a total of 38 office bearers. This includes nine regional vice presidents, four general secretaries, and ten ministers.

Special importance has been given to Gorakhpur in the new team, while the Awadh region team is the smallest. BJP has formed the team keeping full consideration of caste equations.

Many leaders have got a chance to return to the organization after a long time this time. Ashok Moga and Sanjeev Sikka, who became general secretaries, have also returned to the organization after a long time.

BJP's regional working committees include representatives from a total of 12 districts, who will strengthen the party's election preparations.
