Mayawati removed Akash Anand from the post of National Coordinator

BSP supremo Mayawati has removed her nephew Akash Anand from the post of National Coordinator. She said that Akash needs to become more politically mature and therefore it would not be right to give him a major responsibility.

Akash Anand was not included in the national executive meeting held in Lucknow on Thursday. This is the third time Mayawati has not given him a major responsibility in the party. She stated that Akash is not yet ready to deal with opponents' tactics such as persuasion, bribery, punishment, and division.

Mayawati said that Kanshiram had allowed his family to work in the party but was against contesting elections or giving positions in the organization. She remains committed to the same resolution. Akash has been allowed to work in the party, but he needs to become more mature.

The BSP's goal is to ensure the participation of the oppressed in power. Mayawati said that in this work, there is no distinction between insiders or outsiders for her, and whoever works in the interest of BSP and the Bahujan community is welcome.

She deliberated on preparations for the assembly elections to be held in 2027 in five states including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab. For the first time, Akash's younger brother Ishan also attended the meeting, wearing the BSP scarf and present alongside Mayawati and their father Anand Kumar. Additionally, the son of the late MLA Umashankar Singh, Yukesh Singh, also attended the meeting.

Mayawati strictly instructed office bearers to follow the party's directives with full honesty and said that BSP will now contest all small and big elections alone across the country. She directed that programs be held at the state level and zone level in other states on October 9, Kanshiram's death anniversary.

Mayawati said that BSP follows the principles of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Kanshiram left his government job and dedicated his entire life to the struggle for the Bahujan community and prepared them to raise awareness among the oppressed across the country. Following the path shown by him, she formed a full majority BSP government in UP.

Responding to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's statement, she said that RSS should sincerely implement Baba Saheb's constitution. There is a lack of trust among people regarding RSS's role on casteism, inequality, and the rights of SC, ST, and OBC communities.

Mayawati expressed concern over rising inflation and problems caused by natural disasters and said that the issues of Gen Z and Gen Alpha also need to be addressed seriously. The central and state governments should work on these issues.

The party has accelerated preparations for the 2027 assembly elections. So far, in charge officials have been appointed for more than 30 assembly seats, while more than 50 names have reportedly been shortlisted. The appointed in-charges have started public contact and election activities in their respective assembly constituencies.
