Viral Fever-Cough Outbreak Increases Amid Swine Flu In Hathras

HATHRAS। Due to changing weather conditions in Hathras district, viral infections are spreading rapidly. On Thursday, more than 1750 patients visited the OPD of Bagla Joint District Hospital, of which about 450 were suffering from fever, viral fever, and cough.

After a patient affected by swine flu was found, the crowd of patients in the hospital's OPD increased. From 8 am to 2 pm, 30 to 35 people remained in line at the prescription counter. Patients who had already taken medicine were also standing in line outside the doctor's room to show their condition. New patients also joined the line after getting their prescriptions made to see the doctors.

The health department in the district is already on alert regarding swine flu. The increase in the number of patients with fever and respiratory symptoms has raised concern, although not every fever can be considered swine flu.

Senior physician Dr. Awadhesh of Bagla Joint District Hospital said that cases of viral infections are increasing due to the change in weather. He advised people not to be negligent and to get tested by a doctor if fever or other symptoms persist.

Dr. Awadhesh described the symptoms of the infection as sudden high fever, chills, dry cough, sore throat, headache, severe body and muscle pain, extreme fatigue, weakness, runny or blocked nose. He said that in some cases, vomiting or diarrhea may also occur.
