Delhi High Court rejects plea against FDA notices to film stars

The Delhi High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Vimal Elaichi challenging show cause notices issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to actors Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff. The court ruled that the location or status of the FSSAI does not affect the validity of the notices.

The petitioner had sought to quash the notices sent by the FSSAI, the apex regulatory body under the Food Safety and Standards Act, which is headquartered in Delhi. However, the court held that neither the fact that the FSSAI is based in Delhi nor its position as the apex authority changes the source or nature of the show cause notices issued in this matter.

This ruling means that the notices to the film stars stand, and the legal process initiated by the FSSAI will continue as per the regulatory framework.
