FSSAI orders CG Foods India to stop production of veg bhujia
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has ordered CG Foods India Private Limited to stop the production of veg bhujia snacks. Inspection revealed unsafe processing, unlicensed production, and multiple hygiene deficiencies. The regulator seized 32,107.2 kg of stock on site.
FSSAI inspected CG Foods India's unit in Rupangarh, Ajmer. The investigation found that broken noodles collected from the floor were being reused in bhujia products without heat treatment. Additionally, adequate pest control records were not maintained and several food hygiene and safety standards were violated.
Several regulatory samples have been taken for laboratory testing. FSSAI stated that further regulatory action will be taken under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
