Toll Tax Exemption for Farmers of Jewar on Yamuna Expressway

Farmers of Jewar will get exemption from toll tax on Yamuna Expressway. MLA Dhirendra Singh said that this decision was taken after several rounds of talks with officials of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority and the operating company.

The process to grant toll fee exemption to local residents of Jewar area on Yamuna Expressway has started. For this, affected people must register their vehicles at the Jewar toll plaza office by September 17 with local residence proof, Aadhaar card, and a copy of the vehicle's RC.

After verification and registration are complete, the benefit of toll fee exemption will be given. This facility will be convenient for local citizens commuting between Jewar, Greater Noida, and Agra.

Residents of the area have been demanding this facility for the past 14 years. Farmers, social representatives, and farmer organizations have raised their voices several times for this demand. The daily commuting problems of local people and the contribution of farmers have been given priority in this.

According to the website of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, toll tax rates vary according to the vehicle category and the location of the toll plaza. At Jewar toll plaza, the toll tax is Rs 60 for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and tractors. For multi-axle vehicles, it goes up to Rs 580. The highest toll fee of Rs 745 is fixed for oversized vehicles.

MLA Dhirendra Singh said that after several rounds of talks with officials of Yamuna Expressway Authority and the operating company, it was decided to give toll tax exemption to local residents of Jewar area.

To avail this exemption, it will be mandatory to submit the required documents and register the vehicle by September 17. This will provide financial relief to local people in commuting.
