89 Candidates in the Race for Degana Municipal Elections

CHURU। The withdrawal of nominations for the Degana municipal elections has been completed, and now a total of 89 candidates are in the fray across 25 wards. Of these, 29 nominations were canceled while 16 candidates withdrew their names. There will be no uncontested elections in any ward.

The post of municipal chairman is unreserved. Voting will take place on September 11, and counting will be done on September 14. Voting for the chairman post will be held on September 21, with results announced the same day. The election for the vice-chairman will be held on September 22.

The withdrawal process was completed in the presence of Sub-Divisional Officer Vikas Mohan Bhati and Tehsildar Jai Singh. On the last day of withdrawal, 13 independent candidates withdrew their nominations. Earlier, 5 independent candidates had also withdrawn. In total, 18 independent candidates have withdrawn their nominations.

Those who withdrew include Kamal Kishore Singh from Ward 3, Sugra Begum, Farzana, and Shabir Begum from Ward 4, Naveen Gurjar from Ward 5, Vinod Kumar and Shankar Lal from Ward 8, Ramesh Chandra, Vinod Kumar, and Ladoo Lal Gurjar from Ward 11, Prakash Kanwar from Ward 19, and Ramprasad and Ratanlal from Ward 23.

On the first day, those who withdrew included Sandeep Tailor and Manju Devi Sen from Ward 3, Meena Devi Sahu from Ward 15, Kailash Chandra Sharma from Ward 17, and Kanta Devi Gurjar from Ward 24.

After the withdrawal, BJP and Congress each have 20 authorized candidates contesting. Additionally, 39 independent candidates are also in the fray. The contest will be among BJP, Congress, and independent candidates.

Even after the withdrawal, there will be no uncontested elections in any ward. Those who withdrew include Manoj Kumar and Sarbati from Ward 2, Kailashchandra and Ashok Kumar from Ward 4, Ramsingh Saini from Ward 6, Dharmapal Saini from Ward 7, Ankit, Virendra Dangi, and Vineet Dangi from Ward 8, Vikram Singh from Ward 9, Narendra, Gharsi, and Pinky from Ward 10, Suraj Kumar, Prabhu, Munshiram, Anu Kumari, Narottam, Renu Saini, Omprakash, Rohit Saini, and Sunil from Ward 11, Niranjanlal Saini from Ward 13, Maya Baswala and Vijay Solanki from Ward 14, Sameer Khan from Ward 15, Liladhar and Gaurav Harshwal from Ward 16, Priyanka Verma from Ward 17, Chandramani Dara from Ward 18, Deepak Lamoria and Sanjay Kumar Saini from Ward 20, Yogendra Kumar Joshi and Manisha Kedia from Ward 32, Pooja Kedia, Manisha Kedia, and Priya from Ward 33, Ramesh from Ward 34, Payal from Ward 36, Aarti from Ward 37, Rekha from Ward 41, Devaki from Ward 42, Santosh and Neetu Kumari from Ward 43.

Now, all candidates and political parties will focus fully on election campaigning. Since the chairman post is reserved for a general woman, special attention is on the election equations.

The withdrawal process for the Asind municipal elections has also been completed. There, 90 candidates are in the fray across 25 wards. BJP and Congress have 25 candidates each, while 40 independents are also contesting.

On the last day of withdrawal, 13 independents withdrew their nominations. In total, 18 independents have withdrawn. Voting will be held on September 9, and counting on September 14.

Thursday was the last day for withdrawal in the Mount Abu municipal elections 2026. There, 73 candidates will contest across 25 wards.

After the withdrawal, the election picture is clear, and the contest will be among the three major parties and independents.
