ISRO to Launch Six More Missions This Financial Year

Under the Prime Minister's directive, the Indian Space Research Organisation is preparing to launch six more space missions this financial year. On Friday, the EOS-05 satellite was successfully sent into space via the GSLV-F17 rocket from Sriharikota.

The special feature of this mission is that EOS-05 is to be placed in a geosynchronous orbit, which will improve earth observation of India and surrounding regions. The ISRO chief stated that the Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission is highly technical and challenging. The launch vehicle being prepared for the mission will be human-rated, and several important developments including the safety system have been completed.

He also provided information about the new launch pad being constructed in Kulasekarapattinam, Tamil Nadu. It is targeted to be ready by March next year, and work is progressing as per plan. Emphasizing the expansion of the country's space ecosystem, the ISRO chief said that about 440 startup companies are working in the space sector in India, creating new employment and business opportunities.

Friday's GSLV-F17 mission was a significant achievement for India's space program. It was the 19th flight of the GSLV and sent EOS-05 towards the Sub-Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit.
