Clash Between BJP and RLP Workers Over Nomination Withdrawal in Barmer
BARMER। After the withdrawal of the RLP candidate's nomination from Ward 43 in Barmer, a fierce clash broke out between BJP and RLP workers outside the SDM office. The atmosphere became tense due to accusations and scuffles between both sides. Police arrived at the scene and tried to control the situation.
The RLP candidate from Ward 43 voluntarily appeared in the SDM court and withdrew his nomination. During this process, a large number of BJP and RLP workers gathered outside the SDM office. Soon, a debate started between the two sides and the situation remained chaotic for a long time.
RLP workers alleged that hundreds of BJP members forcibly abducted their candidate Dharmaram and pressured him to withdraw his nomination. BJP leader Swaroopsingh Khara denied this allegation, saying that RLP people were trying to forcibly take the candidate away from the SDM office. He stated that the candidate withdrew the nomination of his own will.
Lakshman Singh Godara said that candidates should be strong and resilient so that such situations do not arise. He appealed to both sides to maintain peace.
Police officers arrived at the scene and tried to calm both sides, but the cycle of accusations continued. The large gathering of people kept the atmosphere tense.
The nomination withdrawal process is important for the 2026 municipal elections in Rajasthan because it clarifies the electoral contests in many wards. The withdrawal of the Ward 43 candidate's nomination is likely to change the electoral equations.
The stance of BJP and the administration in this matter has not yet been presented. The real reason behind the nomination withdrawal will become clear only after hearing both sides.
