Tough competition among candidates with similar names in Jhunjhunu

JHUNJHUNU। In the Jhunjhunu district municipal elections, candidates with similar names are facing off in several wards. In one ward of Surajgarh, three independent candidates named Rakesh are contesting. This situation has emerged in the final list after withdrawal of nominations, requiring voters to pay special attention to the candidate's name, election symbol, and identity during voting.

In ward number 51 of Jhunjhunu Municipal Council, there is a contest between BJP's Sanjay Parik and independent Sanjay Kumar Sahal. Since both have similar names, voters will need to be careful about the candidate's identity while voting.

In ward number 5 of Sultana Municipality, two candidates also share the same name and are working to establish their distinct identity among voters during campaigning. In ward number 23, there are two candidates named Suresh, one from the Communist Party and the other independent. Here too, the similarity in names could cause confusion among voters.

In one ward of Surajgarh Municipality, three independent candidates named Rakesh Kumar, Rakesh Saini, and Rakesh Verma are contesting. In this situation, it will be difficult for voters to identify candidates based only on their names, so the election symbol will become the primary identifier.

Due to candidates having similar names, the importance of election symbols has increased in this election campaign. Candidates are prominently promoting their election symbols along with their names on posters, pamphlets, and during public outreach to avoid voter confusion. On voting day, voters will also have to match the candidate's name, election symbol, and party or independent identity before casting their vote.
