SIROHI। 73 candidates have been allotted election symbols for the municipal elections to be held in Mount Abu on September 11. These include 25 each from BJP and Congress, while 10 candidates are from RLP. Independent candidates have been given different symbols, with the apple being the most preferred.
Independent candidates have been allotted various election symbols across a total of 45 wards. These include symbols like almirah, flute, apple, harmonium, brick, television, slipper, gas stove, and bicycle pump. In Ward-1, Kanchan Devi received the flute, Babulal the bicycle pump, and Bhanwarlal the almirah symbol. In Ward-2, Nain Giri, Ward-4 Sitaram, and Ward-6 Rekha Devi were given the almirah symbol.
In Ward-7, Jagdish Prasad Bhargava got the television and Ruparam Prajapat the almirah. In Ward-10, Khushboo Rarotia received the almirah, Sharda Meghwal the harmonium, and Sharda Regar the apple election symbol. In Ward-12, Santosh got the almirah and Suman Kanwar the gas stove.
In Ward-13, Kalawati received the flute, Vijay Kumar the brick, and Hanuman the almirah election symbol. In Ward-27, Poonamchand got the harmonium and Revant Ram the almirah. In Ward-29, Pannalal received the flute and Manfool Ali the almirah election symbol. In Ward-35, Asha Devi was given the slipper and Munni the almirah. In Ward-37 Mahesh, Ward-40 Rahul, Ward-43 Sangita, and Ward-45 Bhanwarlal were allotted the almirah election symbol.
Among the election symbols allotted to independent candidates, the almirah is the most common. Besides this, candidates have also received symbols like flute, apple, harmonium, brick, television, slipper, gas stove, and bicycle pump.
During election campaigning, emphasis will be placed on reaching voters with candidates' names along with their election symbols. These election symbols will be the primary means of identifying candidates during voting.
Sub-Divisional Officer and Returning Officer Rahul Srivastava informed all candidates about the rules of the Model Code of Conduct. He clarified that strict adherence to the code will be ensured until the election process is complete. He warned candidates that strict action will be taken if there is any violation of the code or if voters are offered any inducements during campaigning.
The Model Code of Conduct is already in force in the city. Campaign material put up without permission will be considered invalid and action may be taken against the concerned candidate.
To maintain peace and law and order in the city until the election concludes, police officers have been instructed to prevent unethical activities. The municipal council has also been directed to complete all necessary arrangements at polling stations on time.
Written consent of the building owner will be mandatory to put up campaign material on any building
