Former CDS says Pakistan will remain a security threat

Pakistan will continue to pose a security threat for the foreseeable future, a former Chief of Defence Staff has said. He highlighted that terrorism and proxy wars remain significant challenges for India’s security environment.

The former CDS emphasized that the boundary issue between India and Pakistan remains unresolved, with no mutually agreed definition. He also noted that military power is increasingly being used as a first instrument of state policy rather than as a last resort. The expert added that it is becoming difficult to categorize countries strictly as friends or adversaries, and that India’s relationship with China cannot be held hostage solely to boundary disputes.
