110 Candidates in the Fray for 35 Wards in Sanchaur
SANCHAUR। A total of 110 candidates are contesting in 35 wards for the Sanchaur Municipal Corporation elections. Voting will take place on September 11 and counting will be done on September 14. During the nomination process, 216 candidates filed 240 nominations, of which 86 were canceled and 44 withdrew their nominations.
The post of Municipal Corporation President has been kept unreserved this time. After ticket distribution in BJP, rebellion has been seen in several wards. From Ward Number One, Vasundhara Raje’s close associate Hariya Devi Devasi, from Ward Ten, Trade Board President Harish Purohit Seelu, from Ward 21, BJP Mandal Vice President Sanjana Maheshwari, and from Ward 5, BJP worker Mangilal Darzi are contesting as independent candidates.
Congress could not find candidates in four wards out of 35 this time. Therefore, Congress has supported independent candidates in these four wards. In Ward 6, Congress rebel Harji Ram Purohit and in Ward 27, Aidan Gawariya are also in the electoral fray.
