Head Constable Arrested in Baran for Taking Rs 15,000 Bribe
BARAN। In Baran, the Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Head Constable Ramnivas of Thana Kawai red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. The team recovered the bribe amount through a middleman after an investigation based on a complaint. The accused is charged with demanding Rs 70,000 by threatening to implicate the complainant in a false case.
The police stated that complainant Girraj Nagar had filed a complaint with the ACB post in Baran that Head Constable Ramnivas, posted at Thana Kawai, was demanding a bribe of Rs 70,000 by threatening to implicate him in a false case.
Following instructions from the ACB headquarters, a team was formed under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Ram Verma. The investigation found that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000.
The accused arranged the bribe amount through Hansraj Rathi, a middleman from the victim’s own village, which the ACB team recovered and arrested both accused.
Interrogation of the accused and further action are ongoing under the supervision of ACB Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava and Inspector General of Police S. Parimala.
A case will be registered and investigated under the Prevention of Corruption Act in this matter.
