Pentagon Investigates Leaks Amid Trump’s Iran Conflict Warnings

The Pentagon is investigating leaks of classified national security information related to the Iran conflict, a spokesman said. US President Donald Trump described the war as “small potatoes” and issued fresh warnings about targeting Iran’s underground nuclear site, signalling heightened tensions.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said the department “does not comment on internal personnel or investigative matters but takes all leaks of classified national security information extremely seriously and investigates accordingly.” He stressed that securing classified information is critical to the security of the United States and its deployed troops.

Trump, speaking at the Oval Office, warned that Pickaxe Mountain, a heavily fortified underground nuclear site in Iran, could be targeted if US intelligence detects activity there. He said, “We know everybody that’s moving at Pickaxe.”

The president played down the conflict with Iran, calling it “small potatoes” for the US but issued a fresh threat, saying Iran will not have a nuclear weapon. He added that the primary objective of the military campaign is to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear arms.

Concerns over leaks have led to orders for polygraph tests for top US generals. Trump expressed fury over the leaks, highlighting that leaked information risks lives and compromises national security.
