Mentally Unwell Son Found After a Year in Front of Family

BANSWARA। 18-year-old Akash, resident of Khora Para in Danpur police station area of Banswara district, had left home a year ago due to mental illness. Station officer Nagendra Singh said that family and police kept searching for Akash. On Wednesday, Akash was safely handed over to his family by an organization from Mumbai.

After Akash suddenly left home, the family started searching for him. The family also filed a report with the police, but there was no trace of him for a year. Station officer Nagendra Singh said that Akash was mentally unwell and that was the reason he had gone far from home.

Akash was found by Shraddha Foundation, an organization working for the mentally ill and homeless in the Chembur area of Mumbai. The organization treated and cared for him. When Akash started speaking and understanding, he gave his address as Banswara.

On receiving the information, the organization’s people went to the Kotwali police station in Banswara and shared the child's photo on police and social media. After that, Akash was identified as a resident of Khora Para in Danpur area. The police called the family and the organization handed over the child to them.

This moment was very emotional for the family. Father Pratap Singh said, "They had been searching for their son for a year." The family breathed a sigh of relief after the son was found safe.
