Congress Candidate's Nomination Rejected in Pisangan, Electoral Tension Rises
PISANGAN। The nomination paper of Congress candidate Manoj Sharma from Ward 17 of Pisangan Municipality has been rejected. This has increased tension in the electoral atmosphere and dissatisfaction is visible among Congress workers. Protests have also started in Ward 40 over Farukh Bhutta not getting a ticket.
A total of 160 candidates are in the fray in 25 wards of Pisangan Municipality. A record 12 candidates have filed nominations in Ward 3, while the nomination of Congress candidate Manoj Sharma from Ward 17 has been rejected. This has increased the challenge for Congress.
Gulfam Hussain stated that he filed nomination in protest against Farukh Bhutta not being given a ticket in Ward number 40. He clarified, "Our protest is not against Congress." Shahid Khan said, "Congress has shot itself in the foot by cutting tickets of dedicated workers in several wards." This has created dissatisfaction within the party.
In Ward 12 of Banswara, Congress candidate Rekha Kansara has withdrawn her nomination. Following this, BJP candidate Sonia Vaishnav has become the unopposed winner. This is considered an important gain for BJP. District president Poonjilal Gayari said, "Due to the hard work of party workers and organizational unity, BJP is continuously in a strong position." He dismissed allegations of use of muscle power and said everyone took steps of their own will.
After the rejection of nominations of two Congress candidates in Wards 10 and 21 in Thanagazi Municipal elections, the party has decided to support independent candidates. Ramesh Gurjar in Ward 10 and Sitaram Prajapat in Ward 21 have received Congress support. This may change the electoral equations in these wards.
In about 20 districts of the state, nominations of 99 candidates from both parties have been rejected. Nominations of 57 Congress and 42 BJP candidates have been rejected. Congress suffered the most losses in Ajmer and Pali.
During the electoral process, disputes over ticket distribution and incidents of nomination rejections have emerged at many places, affecting the strategies of both major parties.
