Election preparations complete in Bayana with 156 candidates

BHARATPUR। A total of 156 candidates are in the fray for the Bayana Municipal Corporation elections in Bharatpur district across 35 wards. The post of municipal chairman is reserved for the unreserved women category, and voting will take place on September 11.

By August 31, a total of 256 nominations had been received, of which 50 nominations were rejected and 50 candidates withdrew their names.

A total of 29,014 voters will cast their votes in Bayana, including 15,427 men, 13,586 women, and one transgender voter.

Voting for the chairman post will be held on September 21, and the results will be declared the same day. The election for the vice-chairman will be held on September 22.

Sunita, the Aam Aadmi Party candidate from ward number 34, has withdrawn her nomination.
