Demand for Arrest of Swatantra Bhardwaj under SC-ST Act within 72 Hours

SANJAY। In the case of assault at Jantar Mantar, the police have invoked the SC-ST Act against Swatantra Bhardwaj and demanded his arrest within 72 hours. The dispute began after Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Ghaziabad, sustained a head injury during the protest on June 23, 2026.

Assault Controversy

During the protest by the Cockroach Janata Party at Jantar Mantar, an assault case involving Nishu Azad's father Sanjay Azad has come to light. Sanjay Azad said in a video that if the police had arrived two minutes later, Swatantra Bhardwaj's condition would have worsened. He explained that some people were saying that the injury on his head was accidental, but the truth was that an assault had taken place. Nishu Azad also filed a complaint at the Sansad Marg police station regarding this matter.

Swatantra Bhardwaj claimed that his actions were in self-defense as the crowd had surrounded him. He initially said that he had injured Nishu's father's head but later described it as sarcasm. Nishu Azad accused the police of delaying action by talking about arrest after 72 hours.

Police Action and Demand

The police have demanded the arrest of the accused within 72 hours. According to the police, during the protest at Jantar Mantar on June 23, 2026, 38-year-old Sanjay Kumar from Ghaziabad sustained a head injury.

Police officials have assured that Swatantra Bhardwaj will be arrested soon. The investigation is ongoing and the police are conducting a thorough probe. Nishu Azad has expressed hope that the police will take action and that he will not face any further trouble.
