Delhi-NCR's Rat Miners Team Offers Rescue Help in Nepal
Delhi-NCR's Rat Miners team has offered help to rescue workers trapped in flood-affected tunnels in Nepal. The team's Pune-based volunteer coordinator Anand Kansal has written a letter to the Indian Ambassador requesting to make their services available.
Floods in Nepal have caused severe damage to several hydropower projects in the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. The entrances and interiors of the tunnels are blocked or collapsed due to debris and mud, with an estimated 500 workers trapped inside. The Nepalese Army is conducting search and rescue operations in 19 hydropower tunnels.
