BRICS Nations Represent 40% of Global GDP and Nearly Half the World Population

BRICS countries together account for about 49.5% of the world's population and 40% of global GDP, India said. The leaders will attend an open session titled “Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability: Shaping the Future for Inclusive Global Growth” at the Summit Hall.

The open session is scheduled to begin at 10:50 am, where the BRICS leaders will focus on strategies to promote inclusive global growth through resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability. This follows the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration, which reflects the collective vision of the member states.

Security arrangements are in place around the Arun Jaitley Stadium, with restrictions from 2 pm to 11:45 pm to facilitate the India-Afghanistan T20 match and related summit activities. The BRICS grouping continues to emphasize its significant role in the global economy and population, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts among member nations.
