Indian woman cricketer Smriti Mandhana has set two world records in the Women's Asia Cup match against Hong Kong. She achieved the distinction of becoming the first player to score the most runs and the most centuries in women's international cricket.

After losing the toss, the Indian team got the chance to bat first. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma started slowly, but Mandhana quickly picked up the pace. Playing aggressively against Hong Kong's bowling, she completed her second T20 international century off 57 balls. With this century, she became the batter with the most centuries in women's cricket, surpassing Australia's Meg Lanning.

Mandhana set another world record by hitting two consecutive sixes in the 18th over. She also became the first cricketer to score the most runs in women's international cricket, surpassing her former captain Mithali Raj. In this innings, she scored 124 runs off 64 balls, including 14 fours and 7 sixes. India scored 195 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.

Mandhana also scored her 36th half-century in her T20 international career. She surpassed Mithali Raj's record of 10,868 runs, who has long been the most successful batter in Indian women's cricket. After Mithali, this list includes legendary batters like Suzie Bates, Charlotte Edwards, and Stephanie Taylor.

The Indian women's team has recorded three centuries in T20 international cricket so far, two of which have been scored by Smriti Mandhana. She played an innings of 112 runs against England at Trent Bridge in 2025. Her 124-run innings is the highest individual score by an Indian woman player in T20 internationals.

Mandhana also praised the disciplined bowling of the opposing team during the powerplay. She said, "The opposing team bowled very disciplined during the powerplay." She also revealed, "They were not even aware of this record."
