Over 6% Voters Removed from Manipur Final Electoral List

The final electoral roll for Manipur records 1.96 million voters following a revision that removed over six percent of names. This update comes after a special summary revision exercise conducted across all states and union territories in India, except Manipur until further notice, an official said.

The revision led to the deletion of more than 52,000 voters from Sikkim’s electoral rolls as well, according to the Chief Electoral Officer. The exercise aimed to update and clean the voter lists ahead of upcoming elections. Experts have been involved in reviewing the data to ensure accuracy and compliance with electoral guidelines.
