Amid the Dungarpur Municipal Council elections, the Congress party has accused violations of the code of conduct rules in the city. Congress leaders protested at the collectorate and filed a complaint in this matter. They said that development works are ongoing in the municipal council area despite the code of conduct being in effect.

Led by Congress district president and Dungarpur MLA Ganesh Ghogra, former MP Tarachand Bhagora, PCC state spokesperson Dr. Shankar Yadav, and several Congress leaders gathered at the collectorate. They stated that despite the code of conduct being in effect, new constructions, road works, cleaning with JCB machines, and other development activities are taking place in various wards and areas of the city.

Congress alleged that during these works, the concerned BJP candidate is present at the site, directing officials and employees and overseeing the work. This clearly indicates that government machinery and municipal council resources are being used for electoral advantage.

Congress has filed a complaint with the District Election Officer and demanded an investigation into all new constructions, road works, and cleaning activities started during the code of conduct period. They also requested to check when these works were approved, when they were proposed, and why they started after the code of conduct came into effect.

If a violation of the code of conduct is found, strict action should be taken against the concerned BJP candidate, responsible municipal council officials, and employees as per the rules.

Dr. Shankar Yadav said, "The model code of conduct is currently in effect in the municipal council area."
