Youth Injured in Jantar-Mantar Protest, Police Reveal Details
During the protest at Jantar-Mantar in New Delhi on June 23, Sanjay Kumar from Ghaziabad sustained a head injury. The DCP of New Delhi stated that the injury was caused by a bracelet worn by one of the accused during a scuffle, and medical examination found the injuries to be minor.
The DCP of New Delhi clarified that no weapons were used in this incident. Doctors at RML Hospital examined Sanjay Kumar and confirmed that the injuries were caused by a bracelet, not any weapon. The information about a skull fracture is false and baseless.
The police stated that based on the statement of the injured Sanjay Kumar, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at Parliament Street Police Station. Suraj Kumar and Swatantra Bhardwaj, who were taken into custody from the scene, were issued notices and questioned.
The DCP said that appropriate legal action has been taken and a charge sheet will be filed in the competent court soon. He completely rejected allegations on social media of undue influence and pressure on the police. He said that any such allegations of undue influence or interference in this case are factually incorrect and baseless. Strict action has been taken according to law and procedures.
