Ex-Delhi Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta Dies by Suicide in Noida

Rakesh Mehta, who served as Delhi's Chief Secretary from 2007 to 2010 during Sheila Dikshit's tenure, died by suicide at his Noida residence. Police found a note in which he cited prolonged illness as the reason for his extreme step, stating no one else was responsible.

The police confirmed that the former chief secretary was found hanging at his home in Noida around 1:30 pm. A suicide note recovered from the scene mentioned his ongoing health issues as the cause of his decision. Officials said he had been suffering from a prolonged illness, which led to his death by suicide. Mehta held the position of Delhi Chief Secretary for more than three years during Sheila Dikshit's government.
