Deeg police have alerted the public about the increasing threat of mobile hacking and cyber fraud. The Cyber Crime Branch has issued an advisory to prevent incidents of spreading botnet malware through phishing links.

Under the instructions of DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma, the Cyber Crime Branch is continuously running awareness campaigns. Cyber fraudsters can insert botnet malware into mobiles, computers, and other digital devices through phishing links. After this, they gain access to personal information, mobile applications, and banking details. Important information such as usernames and passwords related to net banking can also be stolen without the user's knowledge.

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) of the central government and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology have jointly developed the eScan CERT-In Bot Removal App for Android users. This app scans for hidden dangerous bots, malware, trojans, viruses, spyware, and adware on mobiles and helps remove them.

The app monitors sensitive permissions granted to mobile applications and identifies new viruses and cyber threats through internet-based security. Upon detecting a threat, it also provides the option to remove or isolate suspicious or dangerous apps.

In case of cyber fraud, the police have appealed to the public to immediately report to 1930. Complaints can also be filed at the nearest police station or cyber police station. Complaints can also be registered on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal cybercrime.gov.in. Additionally, information can be provided on the cyber helpdesk numbers 9256001930 and 9257510100.
