 The Railway Board has approved recruitment for 5165 Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) posts in 2026. These include 3477 graduate-level and 1688 below-graduate posts. The application process will start from the second week of September, with the last date to send final demand being September 15.

The NTPC recruitment includes 2750 Goods Guard posts at the graduate level, 371 Senior Clerk cum Typist, 300 Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, and 56 Chief Commercial Assistant cum Ticket Examiner posts. In the below-graduate category, 700 Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, 600 Junior Clerk cum Typist, 200 Accounts Clerk cum Typist, and 188 Train Clerk posts have been approved.

Zonal Railways and production units have been instructed to send the final demand between September 7 and 15. After that, from September 16 to 22, the process will be completed at the Chief Personnel Officer office level. From September 23 to 25, the process will continue at the Railway Recruitment Board level, and from September 26, it will proceed at the Nodal Railway Recruitment Board level.

The exam session will be a total of 16 minutes, including one minute warm-up, five minutes break, and 10 minutes for the main typing test. For Hindi typing, options for Kruti Dev and Mangal fonts will be available.

The application process will start on September 7 on the official website. For Office Assistant Group-B posts, the minimum age is set at 18 years and the maximum age between 28 and 30 years. Age relaxation will be given to reserved category candidates.

Selection of candidates will be based on the preliminary and main exams. The preliminary exam will have 80 multiple-choice questions on reasoning and numerical ability.
