The National Highway Authority of India has launched a scheme to give Rs 1000 FASTag recharge to travelers who report dirty toilets. This scheme is part of the Clean Toilet Picture Challenge launched in September 2025 and has now been extended until June 30, 2027.

Many public toilets have been built on highways and expressways, but due to lack of cleanliness, people feel uncomfortable using them. Considering this problem, NHAI has prepared a scheme in which travelers will be rewarded for reporting dirty toilets.

Travelers have to upload a clear picture with geo-tagging and time-stamp on the RajmargYatra mobile app. Along with this, they must provide their basic information such as name, location, vehicle registration number, and mobile number.

NHAI will analyze the photos and data and give travelers an instant reward of Rs 1000 for valid vehicle registration number information. This reward will be given as a FASTag recharge credited to the respective vehicle's account.

The benefit of this reward will be given only once per vehicle and it will be non-transferable and cannot be taken in cash. If there are multiple complaints for the same facility, the reward will be given only to the first complainant.

This scheme applies only to toilet facilities under NHAI. NHAI has also shared information about this scheme on social media.

So far in 2026, 429 travelers have received Rs 1000 FASTag recharge by reporting dirty toilets under this scheme. All commuters traveling on national highways can benefit from this scheme.
